ABOUT BRENNAR

Brennar Goree Born in Norfolk, Va. On December 11, 1989, Brennar is the son of US Naval Officer Jay, and Va. Living Legends of Dance Cindy and Larry Black.

At 8, his Nana, Marjorie King bribed him to take basic shag then took him to his 1st Jr. SOS, where he met and competed with Brittney Miller and Autumn Jones. At 9, he competed with sister Ashley Ohlschlager and met Amanda Tedesco. In 2000 they competed in the NSDC with Brennar sporting a tux. In 2004, Brennar teamed up with Autumn Jones winning the overall Jr. title at NSDC.

Competitively, Brennar, alongside incredible partners, has 5 NSDC Jr. Overall titles, 2 NDSC Pro and Overall titles, 6 Grand National Junior and 5 Pro titles, plus 13 US Open Division titles. He has taught Shag in 17 different countries spreading his love for the dance. Another passion is formation teams both as a former member of National Shag Dance Team and choreographer of Jr. Shag Dance Team created with Autumn Jones in 2008, winning numerous National and International titles.

Beyond the floor, Brennar serves his Country in the NC Army National Guard as a decorated NCO and 3 time Soldier of the Year recipient. Brennar continues to serve in all aspects of life through his Faith and dedication to things he loves and is thankful to the Shaggers Hall Of Fame and Keepers of the Dance for this incredible honor and plans to pay it forward for years to come, on and off the floor.
